Prelude to a Celebration (2008) Brass Band
This lively opening number was written in 2007 to celebrate the 40th birthday of Gloucester’s Flowers Band. Dedicated to Philip Harper the work’s tranquil opening features lyrical solos for flugel horn, euphonium and tenor horn, leading into an up-tempo main body comprised of rip- roaring thematic features for each section, including percussion. The work closes with a triumphant reprise of the main theme and jubilant ending.
